| UPW, Ultimate Professional Wrestling, the largest independent wrestling promotion in the United States was formed nearly 2 decades ago by some of the most respected names in professional wrestling. From its inception, UPW has featured top stars as well as a continuing commitment to the development of new talent. We have successfully promoted events in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. We are the only truly international organization working with world wide partners promoting events under our own banner or co-producing with other top name wrestling groups. Prior to Ted Turner's acquisition of Jim Crockett Promotions (NWA) in the early 1990's, which formed the backbone of World Championship Wrestling, UPW co-promoted events with the NWA throughout the New York/New Jersey area, including a very successful schedule of shows at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, NJ. UPW played a major role in opening several east coast territories for the legendary grappler, Verne Gagne's mid-west based American Wrestling Association . The UPW helped AWA to promote its events for a new group of wrestling enthusiasts. Although UPW has had a major concentration in the international market place, our promotion has thrived in the United States as well. We have promoted our events all over the United States from Maine to Florida to California to Washington and Illinois and in between. Come and join us as we begin our 1999 Fall/Winter Tour! |
